The Cleaning Process
(Call 01442 866287 or email us at info@gallerynomad.co.uk to book a cleaning)

Around 75% of our rug cleaning is for the rug trade, so at Gallery Nomad you can be sure your rug is in safe hands.

When we receive a rug for cleaning, it is thoroughly inspected and any defects or necessary repairs are pointed out to the customer.

After inspection comes dust removal.

We have one of only about three Rug Badger machines in the country for removing dust and grit. This is the most important stage of cleaning that most "rug cleaners" leave out, as they don't have the facility or machinery to do the job. (A vacuum just doesn't do it).

When all the dust has been removed, the rug is tested for fugitive colours and the right formula made up for the individual rug to be washed in.

We have a drying room that dries rugs in less than 24 hours, if left to dry naturally; it can take around three days for a rug to dry. This can be detrimental to the fibres and can cause mould and shrinkage problems.

Finally, when the rug is dry it is inspected again and any residual stains dealt with.

Then rolled not folded (unless it is a large carpet) and returned to the customer.

We hope this answers many of your questions, but if you have any more, please feel free to call us on 01442 866287 or email us at info@gallerynomad.co.uk
